Inspired by this video, here is a free AutoBuild template that can help you build a large-scale cactus farm very quickly. The screenshot above is 16x16, but you can repeat it as much as you want to make bigger farms.

Place it in your .minecraft/wurst/autobuild folder.

The template itself is just a 16x16 checkerboard pattern like this, where the starting position is placed in the top-left corner:

The trick is that you build this template repeatedly, once holding sand, once holding cactus, and once holding string. This allows you to build the entire cactus farm even though AutoBuild can only place one block type at a time.

When using this template, it's important to always start building in the corner and to be mindful of which way you are facing. Here are some screenshots to hopefully explain it better (pretend the stone is sand and you are holding cactus that you want to place on top):

Hey Traxes,

There is a TemplateTool hack in Wurst 6 (I know, I know, I should port it to Wurst 7) that lets you create a template by simply scanning something that you've built in Minecraft. That's what I used to make this template.

You could also edit the JSON text manually or use a third-party tool. This is explained here on the wiki: https://wurst.wiki/autobuild#creating_templates

With either approach, you need to keep in mind that AutoBuild will build the entire template using whatever type of block you are holding in your main hand. AutoBuild cannot automatically switch between different block types (though you can use AutoSwitch to build chaotic rainbow wool structures).

I'm not sure what you mean by "change the block we want instead of ip". In the example above, you switch between cactus, sand, and string blocks by simply selecting them in your hotbar. This is not a part of the template.

SmartestParrot Yeah, I agree that should be a thing. It's not as simple as it sounds unfortunately, due to the way AutoBuild works, but it's on my todo-list to figure out a way to make that work.

@Alexander01998 is it possible to make AutoBuild like schematica or litematica where it only uses the blocks that were actually used in the scan? Also, is there a way to make AutoBuild compatible with .schem or .litematica files etc. (I have a post on the forum myself, but, it seems easier to get a reply in here)

rtasyh Mr. rtasyh, can you please make it yourself, I designed AutoBuild and TemplateTool to be really easy to use so that anyone can make their own templates and I find it really sad how people keep asking me to make simple templates for them. I have a video tutorial here that's only two minutes long because of how simple the process is. I really think you'll have no problems figuring it out.

To anyone stumbling across this thread like i did looking for a cactus farm, but with fences viable for vanilla, i have made a module easy for autobuild to build.

Information:
The module is 15x15 containing 8x8 cactus, it uses string so you do not have to break anyblock for it to be placed, it does use alot of string. It is easy to stack, and i myself have made one on a server myself. It is made out of cobble so it is easy to build and oak fences since made on 1.8

How to build:
If build on a multiplayer server that is lagging or just under 20 tps in general use "Check line of sight" so that the sand does not get missplaced due to ghostblocks or lag. If on a singleplayer world this does not matter, since there is no lag or ghostblocks.

When building on multiplayer start low so that the cobble and string inbetween get placed first, and then u can go place sand, fences the other string and cacti at the same time, it is only important that the cobble gets placed first. If autobuild does something wrong go over to the first placed block and break it together with the sand and place a new cobble stone block, it should fix itself.

Sometimes autobuild makes mistakes and u need to break sand and string over the cobblestone blocks or elsewhere before restarting it.

The farm in the picture i build on a 10 tps server in 3 hours alone.
