As if releasing two snapshots in one week wasn't enough, Mojang just casually updated Minecraft to Java 21. Please hold while the Fabric team, and then I, figure out how to deal with that...

If you're using a third-party launcher, please remember to make sure it uses Java 21 instead of Java 17. Mojang's official launcher should handle this automatically.

Cyclopropinon I don't think Mojang has specifically announced their plans for when to update Java, but this update does make sense given that Java 21 is the new LTS (long-term support) version after Java 17.

The next LTS will be Java 25, scheduled for September 2025, (source) and I would expect Mojang to adopt this version in the next major Minecraft update released after that time.

in an older version or so i think they did almost 10

Your_average_minecrafter It depends on how many bugs they find. Based on previous updates, I would expect about 5 pre-releases and 1-2 release candidates.
